Beige on beige is boring only when everything is equally smooth. Vary the surface and the same palette gains depth. Shift tone slightly within the range too — a little lighter, a little darker — so shadows have something to fall on.

Photograph the room in black and white. If the image still has depth, the textures are working; if it goes flat, something needs to be heavier or rougher. Neutral is not the absence of decisions — it is the same decision made five times in five materials.
